JIFSAN presented at Standards Alliance workshop on Regulatory Impact Analysis in Lusaka, Zambia

In April Dr. Clare Narrod and our 2016 USDA-FAS Borlaug fellow Maputa Kamulete-Liweleya presented at a workshop on Regulatory Impact Analysis in Lusaka, Zambia. The workshop was organized by the Standards Alliance, which is a public-private partnership between the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). To read more about the workshop and view the agenda, presentations, and photos, please visit the Standards Alliance website here.

Through the USDA-FAS Borlaug Fellowship Program, Ms. Kamulete-Liweleya was able to travel to the U.S. and participate in JIFSAN's 2016 Extended Fellowship for Food Safety Professionals with Dr. Narrod as her mentor. Her research at JIFSAN focused on the Zambian dairy sector. As part of the program, the mentor also travels to the fellow's country for a follow-up activity. In addition to presenting at the Standards Alliance workshop in Lusaka, Dr. Narrod and Ms. Kamulete-Liweleya visited dairy farms/processing sites and attended a veterinary conference.
